Information Store migration to new drive...

Does anyone know where I can find documentation on moving an Exchange Information Store to a new drive?  I need to free up space on the current drive and our Exchange IS is about 6 GB.  I am installing a new drive and would like to store all data on that drive.

    Thanks for any help...

Yes [Y] Re: Information Store migration to new drive...

    Hi Ken,

This is a fairly straight forward process

From Exchange System Manager | right click properties on the Information store you wish to move | click on the database tab | Now click browse for Exchange database and browse to the location/drive where you now want this information store to be located. Repeat this process for the Exchange streaming database. Click Ok or Apply.

A warning message will be displayed stating that this information store will of offline for the move process. You are fairly right with a 6 GB Information Store it should not take too long to move.

You might also want to check that your transaction log files are not located on this drive also, if so then right click on the relevant storage group and repeat the process for the Transaction log location.

    Regards and good luck.
