Darwin Microsoft IT Pro User Group, a group founded to support the needs of Darwin’s IT User Community, who work with or have an interest in Microsoft Infrastructure, Server Application or SQL technologies.

DMIPUG aims to be community driven, by holding regular meetings with sessions that are relevant to the local community, meetings will include sessions by local & interstate experts including product specialists from Microsoft.

The first meeting of DMIPUG will be a joint meeting with DMIPUG and the developer user group “Outback User Group Northern Territory (OUGNT)”

Penelope Lewin is a Business Productivity Technology Specialist in the Enterprise group at Microsoft, and has recently presented at TechEd 2005 on the Gold Coast, her session will cover the following topics.

•  XML in Office today and what you can do with the various flavours, XML in Word, XML in Excel, Infopath and Information Bridge Framework.
• This can translate into solving business problems: Content Management, Financial Analysis, electronic forms and surfacing Line of Business Data through Office
• Look to the future XML file formats in Office “12” the next version of Office, what that will mean to users, developers, architects and infrastructure.
